Zachary Alexander – School-based counselor at Fairview High School

Zach is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Mandatory Prescreening Agent (MPA).  He earned his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University, where he is currently working on a Doctorate of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision.  Zach has over eight years’ experience working with community mental health.  He has worked with a diverse client population in positions including foster care case manager, mental health case manager, in-home counselor, and clinic based counselor.  Zach is very excited to join Mercy as a clinical school-based counselor at Fairview High School.   

Zach is active in several professional organizations including the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).  He has been elected to serve as the 2018-2019 President-Elect of the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association (TLPCA), and he is currently serving as the Past-President of Argosy University’s chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor Society (CSI). 

When not at work or school, Zach enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, going on hikes, listening to TED talks or podcasts, and traveling.  He also enjoys watching sports and is huge fan of the Nashville Predators.
